A Dedicated and Knowledgeable Office Staff

sharonSharon Emerson, RN, BSN

Agency Co-Owner, Certified Geriatric Case Manager

Moving to Whidbey from Texas in 1980 to care for my grandmother, I worked as a cardiac nurse and as a Home Health nurse. Several years later Jeanne and I started Island Home Nursing. I love nursing and I love homecare– both have helped me grow as a person in ways that wouldn’t have been possible otherwise. I do meaningful work with nice people– how lucky is that? Outside of work, you’ll find me hanging out with family and friends, biking, jumping in the Sound, or curled up with a book.

jeanneJeanne Lepisto, RN

Agency Co-Owner

I’m originally from California, where I received a degree in working with developmentally disabled adults. I moved to Whidbey around 1980, got my nursing degree, and worked as an oncology nurse and as a Home Health Nurse for a few years, before Sharon and I founded Island Home Nursing. One aspect our our service that means a lot to me is our hospice care. Helping people to die in the comfort and familarity of their own homes is something very dear to my heart. Between work and helping my elderly parents, I also enjoy painting and hiking and friends and, most especially, my daughter.

Care Supervisor

I came on board as a Scheduler in 2010 and was promoted to Care Supervisor in 2012 . This is the most fun job I’ve ever had, and I’ve had some good ones. Fortunately, I love challenges and puzzles, because putting together the schedule and accomodating the constant changes is definitely a challege! I’m from Coupeville, so have lots of family and friends in the area. I also have a two year old son, Benjamin, so I guess I don’t have to explain how I spend most of my spare time! Last summer I got married on top of the Space Needle to a wonderful man, Joshua. When I have time, I love to go to concerts and do crafts.

Office Manager

I moved to the Northwest in 1984; My background includes nursing. I have been with Island Home Nursing for three years. I do a little bit of everything, which suits me well because I like the variety. I live with my husband, my son, and two cats. Reading, writing, and knitting fill my time, as well as volunteer activities with my church.

Mosa Wheeler

South End Scheduler

I started as a caregiver with Island Home Nursing and accepted the Scheduler position in 2011. My favorite part of the job is my work environment– I really enjoy the people I work with.  I live in Coupeville where my family (three girls + husband) and I love outdoorsy activities– biking, horse back riding, and off-road trails. My daughters and I are also big time crafters: knitting, glass, and just about anything else. Spending time with my family is my favorite hobby!

Christine Sundin

North End Scheduler

I also started in 2011. I’m amazed at how complicated scheduling is. Fortunately, I like puzzles and people, so this job suits me very well.  At home my two toddlers keep me running, not to mention our farm, complete with chickens and sheep. Crocheting relaxes me. Seems like all of us in the main room knit or crochet and we enjoys showing each other our projects.
